It has been an exciting month for Sydney's Tango Community.

The charismatic Tango Maestro, MIGUEL ZOTTO has been in Sydney for the past month enjoying the city’s Tango and hospitality. We were delighted when Miguelito turned up for his first social dance in Sydney at our Botany Milonga on 10 September, and discovered that he’s not only a great Tango dancer, but also a fabulous Rock and Roll, Swing and Salsa dancer. He has also visited several of our Tuesday Milongas at Rose Bay.

The new Argentine Consul in Sydney, Snr Pedro Colombi (who’s also just arrived in Sydney) has already initiated meetings with local Tango schools to look at ways we can collaboratively promote Tango in Sydney. His energy and enthusiasm is truly a tonic to the Sydney Tango scene.

We’re offering a PRIZE of FREE entry to our Tuesday Milonga for the best caption for this photo of Zotto and Sarita!

We’re about to head off to the Australian Tango Festival in Melbourne where we’ll be performing, teaching and enjoying Tango. We send our warm wishes to all the Tango aficionados on their way to Melbourne and Buenos Aires for this month’s Tango Festivals. Buen Viaje!

And there’s lots happening at home in October . . .

  A Griffith Theatre production
by Stewart D’Arietta and Justin Fleming
  3 November  -  11 December

“As seductive, sexy and subversive as Sydney itself, this new musical theatre production revels in the many facets of the Tango – the dance of power and vulnerability, of history and spontaneity, of love and hate… Satango is a celebration of the great erotic duel. For the Tango is more than a dance. It’s a moment of truth.”

The show stars Simon Burke and Sharon Millerchip. Our friend Jairo Sanchez Rivera is choreographing and performing in the show.
