Our Tango DJ promises to keep you dancing through the night with his inspired and spontaneous mix of Tango, Vals and Milonga. We’re also likely to throw in some live entertainment from time to time. Rose Bay RSL Entry includes a complimentary Tango lesson from 7:30pm - 8:30pm. Our May Milonga at Rose Bay featured the wonderful Tango singer from Argentina, Irene Livolsi, who was superb as always, accompanied beautifully on piano by Jane Buttler.
It was a huge turn-out and we were delighted to have amongst our guests David Backler and Diane Heywood (Side Walk Tango, Melbourne), Sarah Bonner and Friends (Tango Social Club of Canberra) and John Foreman (Music Director for Australian Idol and the Bert Newton Show). You’ll be glad to hear that Jose Prates, who was unable to perform on the night due to illness, is recovering from his recent operation. The next Saturday Milonga in Rose Bay is scheduled for 31 July. You can expect the usual PATIO de TANGO ambience and music; and we may include some live entertainment. Since its inception in 1992, Los Reyes del Tango has followed the unique music style of the late maestro Juan D'arienzo from the golden era of Tango. (1940's - 1950's). Its line-up consists of musicians who previously played for the orchestras of renowned conductors such as Juan D’Arienzo, Héctor Varela, José Basso, Alfredo de Angelis and Miguel Caló.
