A BIG thank you to all who partied at our Christmas Milonga and helped make it such a festive and magical night. And many thanks to all our tango friends for their support and friendship over the past year. You really inspire us to do our best.
1) TUESDAY MILONGAS We're back in action at the Rose Bay RSL every Tuesday from 13 January 2004. Come and enjoy a fun and friendly night at the "Tuesday tango hang-out". 7:30pm - 10:30pm Entry $7 If you haven't yet been to the Rose Bay RSL - you'll love its friendly and intimate ambience, its great bistro and bar service and easy parking. The address is: New South Head Road (Cnr. Vickery Ave), ROSE BAY. PLEASE NOTE that there will be no Milonga on Tuesday, 30 December or 6 January ! 2) CHANGES TO MILONGAS In 2004 we'll be hosting a total of 8 PATIO de TANGO Milongas on Saturdays. (Please note that we no longer co-host the Tango Pasión Milonga.) Dates for the new Milongas are... 31 January - Mexican harpist and dancers performing! (details below), 6 March, 3 April, 29 May, 31 July, 4 September, 30 October and 4 December. This means that there will now be TWO Milongas at the Rose Bay RSL - one every TUESDAY night and one on a SATURDAY night every 1 - 2 months. We'll give you more details about each Milonga closer to the time. 3) MILONGA - featuring the phenomenal VICTOR VALDES ! Experience the beautiful harp, dance and song of Mexico. Saturday, 31 January 2004 8pm - 12:30am [top of page] Rose Bay RSL Entry $15 (Show starts at 10pm. Social dancing from 8pm through the night.)
With the magical melodies of the Mexican harp and his breathtaking voice, Victor Valdes will take you on an enchanting journey into the heart and soul of the real Mexico. Victor is a professional musician, singer and dancer, who has been performing around the world for 15 years, including New York, San Diego, Paris and Venezuela. He was a member of the acclaimed Mexican Folk group "Tlen-Huicani" for ten years, which was named 'best folk group' in Mexico by the union of music and theatre critics. For three years in a row he has won 1st place in the National Folklore Dance Competition in Mexico City. 4) CLASSES / COURSES Next 6 weeks BEGINNER I Tango courses . . . • City: Wednesdays, 7pm - 8:30pm 11 February - 17 March 2004 • Bondi: Thursdays, 7pm - 8:30pm 5 February - 11 March 2004 Course Rate: $100 includes complimentary entry to 6 social dances (value $42). Early bird rate only $90. Next 6 weeks BEGINNER II Tango course . . . Prerequisite: completion of Beginners I course (or equivalent skill level). • Rose Bay: Tuesdays, 6:30pm -7:30pm 3 February - 9 March 2004 Rate and inclusions as above.
