Firstly we want to thank our dear friends and talented students Tina Spiegel and Martin Hargous, Jenny Wells and Alvaro Gonzalez, Gail Parsonage and Ted Murray for dancing sooooo well at the Australian Chamber Orchestra's recent fundraising night - "A Night in Buenos Aires".
And many thanks to all who celebrated PATIO de TANGO's 2nd Birthday at our "Candombe Milonga" - a warm and festive - celebrated Rioplatense style. Thanks also to Jorge Velazco and his Candombe troupe for their warmth and generosity - they performed from their hearts and shared with us an essential part of Uruguayan culture. IVO DE GREEF & CAROLINE PEARSALL A pianist from the age of 6, Ivo has performed with a range of Tango ensembles, including his own tango nuevo group Revirado, Sexteto Temporal and the Mala Pinta quartet. His musical coaches include Piazzolla’s musicians Juan Jose Mosalini (bandoneon) and Gustavo Beytelmann (piano). Caroline has been playing the violin since she was 10 and her many performances throughout Europe (which has a huge tango scene) include playing for Juan Carlos Copes on national television! Her biggest musical influences have been the violin virtuoso, Itzhak Perlman, Juan Jose Mosalini and Gustavo Beytelmann. She now lives in Paris with Ivo. Caroline and Ivo are really excited about playing for and meeting Sydney tangueros and promise to play lots of danceable pieces!!!!
